If you are interested in learning more about our state government’s budget timeline, then here is the link:
The website says that our Governor must propose a budget by the 4th Wednesday of January which is January 27.
Why is it important to know?
It shows an amount of time that the Executive Office of Health and Human Services has for putting together a budget recommendation. It will submit the recommendation to the Executive Office for Administration and Finances for consideration. The next step is that the Executive Office for Administration and Finances will review/modify the recommendations based on the economic conditions and the governor’s priorities then submit them to our Governor Patrick.
So, it appears that the EOHHS does not have much time left and they could make a final decision anytime.
