1. MCDHH is the voice of the Deaf community
2. MCDHH is a history and shall not be destroyed.
3. MCDHH educates those who know nothing or little about deafness.
4. MCDHH is the first resource in the state for many people and we need an agency that is visible with the word “Deaf” in it – often times we (community providers or advocates) go out in the community and give MCDHH as a resource for agencies and people who are at a loss how to provide support. It’s a “first stop” agency and we need to maintain that image.
5. MCDHH has Deaf leaders who lead by examples and advocate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
6. “DEAF” needs to visible where people will seek resources for assistance. MCDHH is the DEAF center where resources will help guide people to the right places for information such as schools, agencies, clubs, etc.
If you want to give more reasons, then please leave a comment with your reason here.

I agree with JP about what MCDHH has to offer. MCDHH, I believe, is the lifeline for providing access to Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing consumers and the hearing world. This organization provides access to interpreters, and I feel if there is a merge, NOT ENOUGH skilled, qualified interpreters will be available to represent the Deaf community.
Also, I feel if a merge did take place, Deaf issues will not be paid attention to. We cannot let that happen!!!
Thanks,
